About Dr. Khan:
Innovation, mind-body connection, wellness and holistic health care are Dr. Khan’s passions. He started his journey with initial training in pediatrics, followed by a fellowship in pediatric neurology, becoming intrigued along the way in the integral and pivotal role played by sleep in the human body. He received Board Certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Child Neurology and later in Sleep Medicine. He followed the path to learning about and utilizing iRest® (www.irest.us) and cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) in his practice to benefit a large number of his patients with insomnia. He is presently writing a book about insomnia and his experiences with patients, and is busy with research on the effects of iRest® on sleep.
iRest is a meditation practice based on the ancient tradition of Yoga Nidra and adapted to suit the conditions of modern life.
iRest was developed by Dr. Richard Miller, a spiritual teacher, author, yogic scholar, researcher and clinical psychologist, who combined traditional yogic practice with Western psychology and neuroscience. iRest is simple to learn and easy to practice. It can be practiced by anyone, regardless of physical ability or experience with meditation. Once learned, iRest becomes a set of tools for life.
