ARTHOUSE on R is proud to present the art exhibition “Plastic Blood”, acrylic paintings by Alisa Turner in the ARTHOUSE on R Main Gallery in the historic R Street Corridor in Sacramento.

The opening reception, including an opportunity to meet the artist, is Saturday, March 11th from 5-8 p.m. The exhibition runs March 9 – April 3, 2023.

Alisa’s work features expressionistic acrylic paintings and fiber art exploring themes of nostalgia, girlhood, and memories.

Alisa is a painter and fiber artist residing in Sacramento, CA. She draws most of her inspiration for her pieces from lived experiences and through an obsession with the past. The main subjects of her work are typically beings created out of self-portraiture but are also inspired heavily by the figures created by German expressionist painters from the 1930s and 40s. Alisa hopes that viewers engage and relate with her work in a personal way and gather their own meanings from each piece.

During the art reception on the 2nd floor Main Gallery, our resident artists will open their studios to the public. On the first floor, visit our friends at Tea Cozy, The Constellation Marketplace, Rumpelstiltskin Yarn Store, Lucid Winery, and Fox & Goose.
