With ’70s Style

Head upstairs at Solomon’s Deli (730 K St.) to The Russ Room to listen to local bands jamming around a ’70s vibe. Created to honor Tower Records and its founder, Russ Solomon, the mod-designed gathering spot sits where the K Street store existed in its heyday. The deli downstairs packs ’em in for bagels (“no bagels, no life” goes the motto, a riff on Tower’s “no music, no life”) while upstairs, music rules the evenings. Come on up to the yellow, orange and turquoise Russ Room (check out the multicolored striped ceiling), pose for a selfie against the wall adorned with a life-size image of Russ Solomon, then sit back and enjoy some tunes.
