Style/Shopping: Makeup for Dummies

I found myself in a bit of a makeup rut recently—hating all my old cosmetics but not sure what to replace them with. So I popped into Face & Body Emporium in East Sac, prepared to drop a bundle on new products: eye shadow, eyeliner, lipstick, brushes, the works. While the salesclerk was pulling stuff for me off a shelf, a small boxed kit from Bare Escentuals caught my eye. Called bareMinerals Get Started: Eyes, Cheeks, Lips, it contained two eye shadows, a liner shadow, blush powder, lip gloss and three really nice brushes—all for $49. On the back of the box: step-by-step instructions on how to apply it all. Sold! The kit I chose is for fair to light complexions; there also are kits for light to medium and medium to tan complexions. One-stop shopping: Love it.
