This weekend, DOCO, the Sacramento Kings and Golden 1 Center will turn on the pink in support of American Cancer Society’s local Making Strides Sacramento and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Join the fun on Saturday evening, Oct. 17, 6 to 9 p.m., during DOCO Al Fresco, the plaza’s outdoor dining experience that features cuisine from Echo & Rig, Local Eats, Polanco Cantina, Sauced BBQ & Spirits, Tahoe Blue Ridge Bar and Yard House.
Beginning at dusk, Golden 1 Center will glow pink, and the evening will include live music and pink-inspired food-and-drink specials (including pink strawberry ice cream from Local Eats and Tahoe Blue Vodka Pink Lemonade from Tahoe Blue Ridge Bar). Donate to the cause and earn an opportunity to win a $500 prize package that includes DOCO merchant gift cards and an overnighter at the Kimpton Sawyer. For a $10 donation, pick up a pink luminary bag to decorate on-site and personalize.
“Fighting breast cancer during a pandemic is heartbreaking for so many reasons,” says Sonya Silva, Senior Community Development Manager for the American Cancer Society. “Lack of funds could reduce the ability to fund cancer research by a devastating 50% in 2020.”
A portion of Saturday’s DOCO Al Fresco proceeds will be donated to Making Strides Sacramento. Walk-ins are welcome, but advance reservations are recommended. Go here to set your plans.
