The season has arrived—skating season, that is. It’s opening day at the Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink, located in Ali Youssefi Square at 7th and K streets. Come on out, do your figure eights and skate doubles in this vibrant urban setting.
Opening day pricing is a steal: $2 admission, skates included. Also, veterans skate free today—just show a military ID.
Regular hours and pricing: Kids 6 and under $6, all others $13–$15, depending on regular or holiday hours. (Go here for more information about hours and days.) Skates are included, and other add-ons such as gloves, socks and helmets are available. Discounts apply to same-day Sac RT riders ($2), Western Health Advantage members and same-day DOCO purchasers ($5) and Sacramento Kings Kids Club All-Star members skate free.
The rink promises lots of fun this season, with themed skate days and special promotions and benefits. Coming up:
The annual Princesses & Superheroes day, presented by SacRT, returns to the rink. Skaters of all ages are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite princess or superhero and can expect visits from special guests, face painting, and more.
Presented by Dignity Health, celebrate Sacramento’s growing art scene by participating in the production of a community art piece at the Ice Rink. Enjoy a hands-on workshop to create unique crafts to share with friends and family, and skate into the week.
Skate and groove to music spun by some of your favorite radio DJ’s.
