Art with Your Coffee?

Many of Temple Coffee Roasters’ baristas have artistic talent beyond the grind of making coffee.

Temple, which has coffee shops in various locations around Sacramento, sells limited-edition coffee mugs, tumblers, tote bags and clothing as a part of its Artist Series. The newest item, released in early June, is a mug with a design by barista Madison Child, from Temple’s Fair Oaks Boulevard location. The mug is priced at $14.50 and is available only in the cafes.

The series started in 2014 and has featured about 16 items so far, says Temple art director Natalie Quach. All of the art was created by local artists, half of whom are Temple employees. Quach herself recently designed a tumbler that depicts the Tower Bridge in metallic gold on a white cup.

“I wanted to pay homage to Temple’s hometown, Sacramento,” she says. A few of her tumblers are still available alongside Child’s mugs.
