An Afternoon at the Crocker

What: Edwin Deakin: California Painter of the Picturesque

When: Through April 20

Where: Crocker Art Museum, 216 O St., Sacramento

Time: Open Tuesday–Sunday 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m.–9 p.m.

Cost: Admission $3–$6

Why:  The last show of Deakin’s work in Sacramento was 120 years ago. Born in England and settling in Northern California, Deakin painted idyllic visions of structures and landscapes in California and Europe. This exhibit houses 50 of his works, including some rarities.
