Went to Shady Lady last night for Happy Hour specials and it was AMAZING! The bartender made us drinks we had never heard of, he educated us on old school liquor and even got my friend to try whiskey, which was a feat in and of itself. I had a Horse's Neck, a Sazerac and an Admiral (which shockingly enough has gin, which I never drink, but I imbibed this drink willingly because it was just plain good.)
The club sandwich was average, but the oysters dish and bacon and eggs dish (spicy deviled eggs)were really good.
But the most amazing thing I had at the Shady Lady was the Chocolate and Peanut Butter. It was so good they practically had to pull me off the plate! It was a chocolate brownie that sat in an artful spear of peanut butter, with peanut brittle garnishing the plate. I am drooling just writing about it.
Try the Lady, but don't try to order a Long Island or Tokyo Iced Tea because you will be briskly refused. They are alcohol snobs, but willing educators to students willing to listen. It was such a fun night!
