editorial profile:

Uncle Vito’s celebrates pizza and beer New York style in the heart of midtown. The pizza bar—part of the Paesanos family—is a fun new spot that’s quickly becoming a favorite amongst the late-night dining crowd. “What we were after is something typical of a New York bar and pizzeria” says Mark Scribner, owner of Uncle Vito’s. The eatery is on the divey side with a few tables, a bevy of bar stools, video games, a Jägermeister machine and a large plasma screen television for Monday night football games. Pizza at Uncle Vito’s is straightforward: thin, cheesy, greasy and good. Vito’s offers 13 toppings, all the traditional stuff, plus fresh pineapple, artichoke hearts, Fontanini Italian sausage and imported anchovies. The atmosphere is laid-back and relaxed with friendly staff and a handful of regulars who have claimed residence at the bar. Cindy Arora

" I used to go to vito's and have great pizza with a great up beat staff. Then in janurary 08 the bar changed staff , the service went to crap. The pizza even starting getting changes to much , It lost it flavor . Almost like they are using cheaper products. I finally stopped going to vito's about 4 months ago when I complained to the manager about the bartenders additude , and I was told if I don't like her additude then call someone who cares. Wow I was shocked. A young 22 -25 yr old manager , I think her name was Nichole. I will never go to this pizza place again. I wish I knew where the staff that was there before works, I would be happy to give them my business. "
