editorial profile:
There’s a sultry "je ne sais quoi" that oozes from the upscale Town Lounge Restaurant in Roseville. Its circular dining room—decorated in shades of gold and orange—creates a cozy and intimate atmosphere that is accentuated by the melodic tunes of live jazz on the weekend. The restaurant, in a shopping center along Eureka Road, has a distinct neighborhood supper club vibe and a lively menu to match. Order a bottle of wine from its generous wine list and start the night with an appetizer of grilled naan and homemade spreads of hummus and calamata olive tapenade. Salads range from a brown butter poached lobster and mango salad to a roasted golden beet carpaccio made with arugula, goat cheese and shredded duck confit. Dinner at the Town Lounge includes the mustard–crusted rack of lamb; seared buffalo rib eye and soy-glazed sea bass. Lunch choices range from leafy greens, such as the Fuji apple salad, sandwiches and entrees packed with flavor. Cindy Arora
