The next time you’re craving eggs Benedict or a crusty Belgian waffle, try visiting Granite Bay’s cheery Toast restaurant, where breakfast is served six hours a day and diners are mesmerized by gorgeous views of sapphire-blue Quarry Pond. This is the place to indulge your passion for all things breakfast, from wild salmon scrambles and Spanish omelettes to banana pancakes and steel-cut Irish oatmeal. Don’t miss the sturdy huevos rancheros, a corn tortilla loaded with rice, black beans, chorizo, cotija cheese and guacamole; or the fragrant, toothsome Israeli cous cous, doused with warm coconut milk and sprinkled with dried mango, raisins, almonds and fresh fruit. Lunch also is available Monday through Saturday, and patrons can choose from an enticing selection of salads and sandwiches. (We highly recommend the delicious, greasy Reuben.) Dinner showcases a solidly appealing range of entrées, from porcini-crusted filet mignon to seared jumbo Diver scallops with steamed scallion rice and bacon-flecked green beans. If you have an opportunity, ask to be seated on the pretty patio area, which looks out directly onto the 6-acre pond, banked by carefully tended, colorful flower beds. - Kira O'Donnell

" This restaurant is a gem. We had a lovely romantic, quiet (hard to find these days) dinner while listening to the beautiful music by Doug Pauly (guitarist) and Meleva Stewart (vocalist). Our waiter, Chris was excellent. I had the Salmon dinner, along with the fresh spring greens salad (wonderful with pomegranate seeds and feta cheese) followed by the lemon tart. Everything was perfect.
It is hard to find a small intimate place to dine that is quiet, with excellent music, food and service. I would encourage everyone to leave the children at home and get out for a romantic evening!!(try to be there when Doug Pauly and Meleva Stewart are there.. they are wonderful to listen to!!) "
