editorial profile:
When you move into a neighborhood there a few key places you suss out in order to feel settled in; there’s the dry cleaner, a good coffeehouse, a decent greasy spoon and a place to pick-up Chinese take-out when cooking isn’t in the cards. Shanghai Garden— found in-between midtown and East Sacramento—is a quiet neighborhood restaurant that serves up tasty sweet-and-sour pork and moo-shi shrimp in a friendly and casual environment. The menu is packed with, soups, appetizers, bean curd entrées, chow mein, chow fun, seafood dishes such as honey walnut shrimp and scallop in garlic sauce. It also serves vegetable dishes and let’s not forget the usual suspects: beef with broccoli, chicken with almonds and kung pao pork. Business folk, try the special business lunch during the week.
