The red door that leads into Moxie Restaurant speaks little about what’s actually inside this neighborhood bistro. It’s surprising when one walks into the cozy dining area that has framed blacked and white posters of old Hollywood starlets and a handful of tables snuggled up next to each other. Moxie is found on residential H street next door to a yoga studio. It doesn’t have a neon sign, happy hour or live music on weekends. But that hasn’t deterred it from being a local favorite. It has an informal menu that changes to fit what’s in season, what’s in the kitchen and what people feel like eating. The motto is “If it’s in the building (or close by) we will prepare it.” The eclectic menu has appetizers and salads such as crab pot stickers and seasonal greens. Main course entrees include meatloaf with mashed potatoes, paprika spicy chicken pasta or liver and onions. Moxie offers daily seafood and meat specials such as lamb and tenderloin. Cindy Arora

" I consider myself quite the foodie! When a friend told me about Moxie, I was anxious to give the quaint restaurant a try. Upon review of their eclectic menu, I was anxious to hear the specials of the night. When our waiter arrived to spew out the specials, I was amazed by the assortment of options. Everything from seafood to veal, and fabulously delicious steaks options. You can't find a better meal in town! "

" Since discovering Moxie, my husband and I seldom go anywhere else for a quiet romantic dinner. The food is exceptional; the ambience is elegant yet friendly. Adam and Bill makes their customers feel as if they are special family members. The service could not be better.
