There’s a cocktail at Mason’s called Sac Meets Manhattan (bourbon martini with Campari bitters and maraschino cherries) that is apropos for this trendy downtown restaurant that has a decidedly “Sex in the City” vibe to it. Perhaps it’s the two queen-size beds on the outdoor patio, the waterfall that drops sheets of water, the large volcanic rock fireplace or the velvety furry walls in the bar area that give it a distinctive super-chic appeal that keeps it busy with business folk during the day and bumping with Sacramento socialites at night. The dining area is laid out with tables and comfortable cushioned booths and chairs that sit primly on shiny hardwood floors. The daily lunch menu offers items such as spicy fresh fish tacos that come served with mango pico de gallo and plantain chips, or traditional fish and chips. For dinner, start out with smoked foie gras made with vanilla bean, caramelized pineapple, cherries and a toasted brioche, and then ease into a roasted pork chop main dish that is served with spiced hush puppies. " Mason's Kitchen and Bar is a local gem. The food and service are outstanding and the bar knows how to make a great cocktail. For lunch or dinner, the dining experience is on par with the best New American restaurants anywhere in the country. I choose this place first when I want to impress a client or prospect. I also like to take my wife here in the evenings for dinner. Ask for Joseph or Patrick for your server and I promise that your service will be top shelf. "

" Mason's is a great new downtown spot. This modern interior teamed with great food is a "must visit" if you are downtown, new to the region or live in Roseville. It is well work the drive. "
