La Boheme, deliciously French with its refined setting and classical piano music pays homage to decadent cooking. An ideal spot for Francophiles who long for the rich flavors of French cuisine—minus the cramped transatlantic plane ride—La Boheme serves favorites as rabbit in a sherry wine sauce, classic duck a L’orange and garlicky escargot drowning in butter. Culinary ecstasy is pushed even further with seafood, chicken and meat dishes buried in creamy reduction sauces or lovingly wrapped in bacon and cheese. Try the veal with brie cheese sauce, bacon-wrapped medallions of beef or scallops, elk in a rosemary mustard sauce or New York steak topped with fresh crabmeat and tarragon cream sauce. Save room for dessert and request anything from the flambé menu. " We have been to La Boheme several times and the experience has been consistent - consistently mixed and mediocre. The location is poor - in Fair Oaks, far from any associated entertainment and next to a convenience store (scary some nights). The menu is inventive but the food is rarely above average to good. The service, from what is a stable management and crew, is inept, clumsy and amateurish, often rushed and confused. Simply not worth what are some of the highest prices in Sacramento. "
