L Wine Lounge/Urban Kitchen, underneath the 1801 L lofts, blends big-city sophistication with small town charm to create a swanky gathering spot where everyone is invited. The restaurant’s design creates a minimalist look with splashes of bright green—including a lime green chaise lounge —against a black backdrop. The first level has a wine lounge and wine vault and the upstairs hold the dining loft, outdoor patio and champagne room. The wine list is intense and carries boutique wines that are hard to find and fun to drink. Executive chef Ame Harrington—formerly of The Kitchen—puts together a seasonal small plate menu, such as three-cheese plate, seasonal tartine, the L burger, and gnudi (a ricotta filled dumpling with asparagus and tangy flavors of lemon). It’s relatively new, but the word is out on the proverbial street and people like its romantic flair. “People are making out here all the time,” says owner Marcus Marquez. “We didn’t expect that.” Cindy Arora

" It has a cozy, sophisticated, and very friendly atmosphere. The food is very tasty and it features a great wine bar with a wide range of national and international wines. They have a seasonal menu, and use fresh locally grown produce. \r\nThey have valet parking as well, so it's perfect if you don't want to worry about running back to your car and adding more coins to the parking meter. "

" Wine aficionados, this is your place. The wine guy is really knowledgeable and happy to tell you all about the selection. For me, the education is a big part of the charm! The food menu is so ambitious and full of local, seasonal delights. Loved the lentils with duck confit. Don't go here if you want to be stuffed to the gills - for that you want Claim Jumper. At L you will find elegance, fresh food, great wine and overall, a beautifully run restaurant. Great date place, or for get togethers with a group of people who appreciate fine wine and fine food. I have been many times and have yet to find anything disappointing about the place. LOVE it. "
