Finding a culinary hidden gem is a moment of happenstance. Amore Café—owned by husband and wife team Nader and Fariba Shirakh—is one you should definitely stumble upon. The couple, who owned Amadeus restaurant on Fair Oaks Boulevard, retired and came back in the last year with a charming bistro/bakery that shines with the couple’s fine-dining roots. The café offers breakfast, such as poached eggs, omelets and healthy fruit cups. But it is Amore’s lunch and dinner entrees that truly surprise. The Amore burger arrives with a thick and juicy patty in a focaccia bun and crispy organic potato chips. The beef tenderloin kabob comes with basmati rice and fresh baked lasagna, salads and a flavorful house-made clam chowder. Amore has sidewalk dining and a good-looking dining room in warm colors of orange and gold. Take a seat on the comfy couch and order from the specialty coffee menu and colorful pastry case with goodies you can eat and regret later. Cindy Arora

" My sister, who raved Amore, was the first to let me in on her new favorite spot. I\'m now a regular there, frequently finding myself craving their Belgian Waffle (w/ strawberries and eggs & bacon/sausage on the side) for breakfast or their lasagna for lunch. Sometimes I go for breakfast out of my fascination for the contraption they use to squeeze their own orange juice, right in front of your eyes in a matter of seconds! Amore is appropriate for pleasurable meal or for business. The owners must have experience in restaurants and customer service. Their pleasant demeanor and friendly service in itself are enough to keep me coming back. They’re pretty conveniently located next to the Zinfandel Grille in Gold River. I recommend Amore to everyone I see. Check them out sometime. I’ll be going for dinner soon! "

" Sometimes you find a place and think that this is a real treasure and Amore is one of them. We are so lucky that we have Amore in Gold River. I would go there for breakfast every Saturday. Everything made from scratch and everything tastes wonderful.
