Aioli Bodega Espanola has been serving its straightforward and flirty foods from the South of Spain for 13 years. The spacious dining room twinkles with soft lights, a siren call for romantics who want to splurge on a bottle of Spanish red wine, order a paella valenciana—made with saffron rice, shrimp, seafood, chicken and pork spareribs—while swaying to live flamenco music. It’s a reputable date spot that has resulted in a number of weddings through the years. But it’s also a favorite amongst locals who come here for birthday parties, girls’ night out, anniversaries and plenty of lunch meetings by local politicos. The food is pura Espana, with tapas calientes—such as bavette de boeuf — a seared skirt steak — paella for two and house specials that include marinated rabbit and braised lamb shanks. The restaurant is informal and welcoming despite its upscale appearance. Order el borracho (the drunk) for dessert and get a knowing smile from the server. Cindy Arora

" THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE.... REDA IS A TRUE RESTAURANTEAUR M A GENTLEMAN, THAT KNOWS WHAT HE DOES. I HAVE BEEN GOING THERE SINCE THEY OPEN. IT'S THE BEST!!!A+ ALL THE WAY. "

" My boyfriend and I went here and we enjoyed the atmosphere and the great wine selection. The food on the other hand was very small and didnt fill us up even though we got 4 items. Some of the food had way too much dressing on it which took away from the flavor of the meet. Probably wont go back to eat but would go back for a good glass of wine. Excellent service, the staff was very helpful in showing us the different items on the menu. "

" I love this place! I came to a birthday party at the Aioli's in Davis (down the street from the cute little train station) and was turned on to Aioli’s in Midtown Sacramento. It is now my favorite spot! Not your typical Sacramento restaurant at all. Great menu, wines you'll love and fantastic art on the walls. Dinner is wonderful and lunch on the weekend is worth it! It's a definite must...it's the best Mediterranean food you'll find in the central valley. "
