DESCRIPTION:<p>\n	You won't want to miss folk rock singer-songwriter and gu
itar virtuoso Dave Nachmanoff as he makes his debut at the Sutter Creek Th

years\, both on his own and as Al Stewart's opening act\, verbal sparring
partner and lead guitarist (remember 'Year of the Cat'?). For years he's w
owed audiences with his original songs and playing.<br /><br />\n	Dave Nac
hmanoff wrote his first song at the age of 9. He went on to study music an
d philosophy at Columbia and Oxford Universities\, earned a Ph.D. in Philo
sophy from the University of California\, Davis in 1997\, and promptly ret
ired from academia to dedicate himself to music. A California based perfor
mer with nine albums under his belt\, Dave Nachmanoff is known for sophist
icated songwriting\, clean guitar playing\, rich and textured instrumentat
 ion\, top-notch singing\, and most importantly\, an energetic show. He's b

sygoing charm of Arlo Guthrie and the raw energy of Bruce Springsteen”.<br
/><br />\n	Having paid his dues playing in bars\, restaurants and coffeeh
ouses\, Dave has built up an active mailing list of more than 8\,000 fans
throughout the US\, Canada and Europe and is now performing as an opening
and featured act at some of the better-known listening rooms\, performing
arts centers\, and concert halls. Touring as opening act and lead guitaris
t for Al Stewart for more than ten years\, he has been exposed to a much l
arger audience. He recently released the live CD 'Uncorked” with the folk-
rock legend. He’s shared the stage with Don McLean\, Steve Forbert\, The P
 ogues\, America\, Alison Krauss and many others.<br /><br />\n	As a perfor
mer\, Dave is full of energy\, personality\, and fun. Drawing from the bes
t of his East Coast folk heritage\, he has a knack for transforming a room
ful of passive listeners into active participants. He has a repertoire of
hundreds of original songs covering a broad spectrum of topics and musical
  genres.<br /><br />\n	'Step Up'\, Nachmanoff's new CD\, was produced by R
onan Chris Murphy in Los Angeles\, and features fantastic guest vocalists\
, including Al Stewart\, Rosemary Butler and John Wicks of The Records\, a
nd top-flight musicians who have performed with Los Lobos\, Jason Mraz\, a
nd John Fogerty. Several of the tracks have gained recognition in national
songwriting competitions including the USA Songwriting Competition\, the
International Acoustic Music Awards\, and the Great American Song Contest.
Sing Out! Magazine has praised his “heartfelt\, inspired songwriting - wi
