\n Angels for Hearts will be having its first Valentine’s Da y event\; “Heart Kids Rock” on Saturday February 16th\, 2013 at the Sutter Cancer Center/Buhler Building located at 2800 L Street\, Sacramento CA 95 816. There will be free valet parking for all party guests. Our goal is fo r our 'Heart Kids Rock Event' will turn into an annual event every Februar y. Our “Heart Kids Rock Valentines Event” will celebrate the traditional V alentine’s Day\, National Heart Awareness Month Congenital Heart Defect Aw areness Month\, Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week and Congenital Hear t Defect Awareness Day. “Heart Kids Rock” is a party for pediatric heart f amilies with heart children ages 0-17 years old and their immediate family including siblings and parents/guardians.
\n\n Heart Kids Rock Val entines Event is sponsored by Angels for Hearts in partnership with Sutter Children’s Center Sacramento. The event will include dinner\, crafts\, de sert and entertainment from Radio Disney so that the heart kids can dance their hearts out.
\n\n What we learned from the heart parents & hear t kids was that on February 14th when everyone is celebrating Valentine’s Day\, love\, cupid\, flowers\, candy and all the fun that goes with the Va lentines Holiday\, heart parents and heart kids are not celebrating. For m any if not most pediatric heart patients and families it is the one day of the year that everyone points out that their child is different and is a heart child\; for these families it is one of the hardest days of the year for them. Angels for Hearts having an event on or around Valentine’s Day will allow these heart kids to just be kids and for the heart kids to be with other heart kids and not to feel different. For the families and pare nts to be with other heart parents it gave them the chance to laugh\, cry\ , share experiences\, just be a family. To realize they are not alone or t he only heart family and to celebrate being a heart family!
