\n Angels for Hearts will be having its first Valentine’s Da y event\; “Heart Kids Rock” on Saturday Feb 16th\, 2013 from 4-7pm at the Sutter Cancer Center/Buhler Building located at 2800 L Street\, Sacramento \, CA 95816. OUr Goal is for our event to turn an annual event every Febru ary celebrating Valentines. Our “Heart Kids Rock Valentines Event” will ce lebrate the traditional Valentine’s Day\, National Heart Awareness Month C ongenital Heart Defect Awareness Month\, Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week and Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Day. “Heart Kids Rock” is a pa rty for pediatric heart families with heart children ages 0-17 years old a nd their immediate family including siblings and parents/guardians.
\n< p>\n What we learned from our heart parents & heart kids was that on Febru ary 14th when everyone is celebrating Valentine’s Day\, love\, cupid\, flo wers\, candy and all the fun that goes with the Valentines Holiday\, heart parents and heart kids are not celebrating. For many if not most pediatri c heart patients and families it is the one day of the year that everyone points out that their child is different and is a heart child\; for these families it is one of the hardest days of the year for them. Angels for H earts having an event on or around Valentine’s Day will allow these heart kids to just be kids and for the heart kids to be with other heart kids an d not to feel different. For the families and parents to be with other hea rt parents it gave them the chance to laugh\, cry\, share experiences\, ju st be a family. To realize they are not alone or the only heart family and to celebrate being a heart family!\n\n Heart Kids Rock Valentines Event is sponsored by Angels for Hearts in partnership with Sutter Childre n’s Center Sacramento. The event will include dinner\, crafts\, desert and entertainment from Radio Disney so that the heart kids can dance their he arts out.
