Make It: Irish Coffee for One

Need to warm your toes on a blustery January evening? Mix up a hot, comforting Irish coffee and plunk down in front of a crackling fire with your favorite novel.
Boiling water
Freshly brewed, strong black coffee
2 teaspoons brown sugar (or more to taste)
1½â2 ounces Irish whiskey
Softly whipped heavy cream
Pour boiling water into a mug and let sit for 20 seconds, then empty out mug. Fill the mug three-quarters full with hot coffee. Add sugar and stir. Add whiskey without stirring. Slowly pour the whipping cream over the back of a warm teaspoon into the coffee. Serves 1
