Sacramento Kennel Club Dog Show
Presented by Sacramento Kennel Club at Cal Expo
April 12-April 15, 2012
The Sacramento Kennel Club is one of the longest-standing dog shows in the country at almost 100 years old, their first records date back into the 1920s. In the beginning, it was part of the California State Fair during the '50s where it was immediately recognized as one of the premier shows in the country. In the '60s, Cal Expo was built in Sacramento, and it became the show's new home every year. In the '80s, several specialty clubs joined and growth has compounded year-after-year. Today, the show is celebrated with one 4-day annual show, every April, and has become known for its outstanding show dogs, the competition, and as a great family-friendly event.
The Sacramento Kennel Club and Dog Extravaganza strives to benefit local dog shelters and promote shelter dog adoptions and offers support to the dog-owning public by way of introducing them to local dog professionals, local dog products and services, and dog-related education resources such as breed information.
