Sacramento Ballet's Wild Sweet Love
Feb 13, 2014 to Feb 16, 2014
The Sacramento Ballet, performs Wild Sweet Love…an evening that includes 3 complete ballets dedicated to love in all of its complexities, on February 13 through the 16th at the Community Center Theater. (See times below),
Owing to the athleticism of Ron Cunningham’s company of dancers, love will be in the air…literally. Wild Sweet Love is where strength meets beauty, as performed by the Sacramento Ballet. Add a dash of sexy and pinch of spice and season to taste, as they say…and you have an entrancing concoction of love, in all its flavors.
This triple bill features Wild Sweet Love, Wunderland and an original piece by choreographer Ma Cong, formerly with the National Ballet of China.
Wild Sweet Love
Featuring contemporary music from Queen to Roberta Flack and Lou Reed, this piece depicts the odyssey of a person moving through the variations of love, including loneliness, puppy love and the longing for love to the final universal experience of the basic need for human contact.
Featuring a dozen dancers, this is an exotic, erotic piece, revealing the frustration of a couple deeply bound, though unable to connect.
World Premier-Choreography by Ma Cong
This original, interpretive piece will be a world premiere by the Chinese choreographer from Beijing, who is a rising star in the dance world.
