| Description |
Sacramento Children’s Chorus kicks off their 20th anniversary season with Gloria! — two holiday concerts Dec. 1, 7:30 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church and Dec. 2, 4:00 p.m. at Carmichael Seventh Day Adventist Church. All five choirs will perform under the direction of Lynn Stevens and Julie Adams, along with special guests, Beverly Wesner-Hoehn and the Celestia Harp Ensemble and Carrie Hennessey, Soprano. These concerts include works by British composers Benjamin Britten and John Rutter and Canadian composer Eleanor Daley.
"We are performing five of the carols from Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols — the quintessential choral composition for youth choirs," says Lynn Stevens, SCC founder and artistic director. "This famous work was our debut piece in 1993 and I'm especially happy to reprise it for the special occasion of our 20th season." |
