From the pages of Mother Goose and other beloved children's tales comes the 18th Annual Giant Pumpkin Festival of Elk Grove. Join The CSD at Elk Grove Park on the first weekend in October as they unfurl a festival of whimsical storybook wonder.

Activities include:
-Miraculous magic seeds? It's not a beanstalk, but Jack would be envious of the pumpkins grown in the Giant produce weigh-off. Gaze upon these monstrous orange orbs as they grace the scales on Saturday morning.
-Rub a dub dub...It's the Pumpkin Regatta, a race between pumpkin tubs across Strauss Lake! See for yourself what the Weather Channel rated #3 in the top 10 craziest things done with pumpkins in their 2011 show,Pumpkinpalooza. The paddles will be poised for the 6th annual showdown on Sunday at Noon.
-Conquer castles & dance on a dragon; magical activities abound at the festival. Little princes and princesses can explore an enchanted land of carnival games, a pumpkin patch, giant tea cups, a caterpillar roller coaster, and inflatable castles and dragons.
-Fairy tales: Bibbity...Boppity...Boo! Fashion a scarecrow honoring your favorite fairy tale for this contest and you could earn more than just magic beans.
-A Merry Mix of Entertainment. Dance a jig with Celtic rocker, The Young Dubliners, or watch a graceful waltz by Vienna Rhythm. Storytellers, lion dancers, and other marvels await your family on two entertainment stages.
