Farm-to-Fork Week in Sacramento is more than two months away – it officially launches on September 21st with Soil Born Farms’ 11th annual Autumn Equinox Celebration – but tickets are already on sale for several of the events.
The opening reception, scheduled for Friday, September 20th, will be hosted by Chef Randall Selland and Ella Dining Room & Bar, in addition to Sterling Caviar and the Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau. Regional growers involved in the event include Del Rio Botanical, Watanabe Farms and Feeding Crane Farms; and an array of local producers such as Old Town Smokehouse, Two Rivers Cider and Track 7 Brewing Co. will also be on hand to share their wares. Nibbles include a Sterling caviar tasting (paired with a “special, one-time only cider” crafted by Two Rivers especially for the event) and hors d’ouevres showcasing seasonal ingredients from participating growers. The reception will be held from 6:30-8:30pm at the Sacramento Water Intake Facility at the Robert T. Matsui Waterfront Park on the Sacramento River. Tickets for this 21-and-over-only event are available through Eventbrite.com and cost $85 per person. Proceeds will go the California Food Literacy Center, a local non- profit serving the region’s children by providing education about healthy, local, seasonal foods.
Farm to Fork Week ends on Sunday, September 29th with a spectacular dinner held on Sacramento’s iconic Tower Bridge. Over 600 guests will experience an al fresco 4-course meal, prepared by an impressive lineup of the region’s hottest chefs. An exciting showcase of the Sacramento Valley's extraordinary agricultural bounty, this unique dinner runs from 4:30pm to 9pm and is certain to sell out quickly.
