Tickets are now available for The Palate Project, a culinary gala benefiting the Center for Land-Based Learning and the Yolo Food Bank. This unique event is presented by Nugget Markets and hosted by The UC Davis Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science.
Scheduled for Friday, Oct. 4 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Robert Mondavi Institute (RMI) for Wine and Food Science Good Life Garden, the Palate Project aims to “celebrate the world of great food, wine and beer” while raising funds for these two local non profits. Attendees will enjoy a wide range of signature dishes from Nugget Markets kitchens, as well as a variety of meats, seafood and vegetables, all freshly grilled on-site. Beer and cheese pairings, chocolate and wine pairings and at least 100 wine tastings from more than 40 wineries include local, organic and imported offerings; many of which are from UCD alumni winemakers.
This year, guests can also participate in the “Bid to Build Your Cellar” wine auction, to support programmatic activities at the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science. Auction items can be viewed on the RMI’s website.
Tickets for The Palate Project are $40 and can be purchased online at the Center for Land-Based Learning and the RMI. Tickets are also available at any Nugget Market location. Guests must be at least 21 years of age to purchase tickets and attend the event. Parking at the event is $8.
The Palate Project is a fundraising event that originally began in Davis in the early 1990s as Nugget Market’s Best of the Barrel, which raised thousands of dollars for a large number of local non-profit organizations throughout the Sacramento Valley.
