Simple and serene, Ruen Thai is a little family-owned restaurant that offers a surprisingly large selection of fresh-tasting food. Start with cold Ruen Thai rolls, crammed with noodles, tofu, carrots and lettuce and dipped in a thick, peanutty sauce. The roast duck curry is fabulous. Other winners include whole deep-fried fish and shredded green papaya salad. There’s also a very nice selection of wine and beer (both Thai and domestic microbrews).
