Frisky and crisp, Amador Foothill’s 2010 Sauvignon Blanc was a resounding crowd-pleaser at a dinner I hosted recently. This refreshing, light wine offered bright-tart acidity and a mouthful of citrusy (pink grapefruit and lime) flavors with a gentle edge of minerality and a lingering, perfumey melon-lemon peel finish. Pair this perky wine with shellfish, fish ceviche, goats’ cheese, fried calamari or a late-summer tomato-basil tart.
