The Commanders Jazz Ensemble and Travis Brass from the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West will present a FREE CONCERT on Wednesday, December 13th, 2017 at Memorial Auditorium, and will deliver an exciting performance not to be missed! Memorial Auditorium is located at 1515 J Street, Sacramento, California 95814, and the concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.
A component of the US Air Force Band of the Golden West, The Commanders Jazz Ensemble carries on the American musical tradition of the great big bands, yet offers much beyond the big band sound. This group of highly-trained professional musicians, formed from 18 active duty Airmen, delivers the full gamut of jazz music - traditional jazz, cool, bop, swing, Broadway favorites, and patriotic music. The members of the Commanders are all professional Air Force musicians working in support of Air Force and Air Mobility Command official military recruiting and community relations objectives.
The Travis Brass is part of the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West from Travis Air Force Base, California. Comprised of two trumpets, French horn, trombone, and a tuba, the Travis Brass performs for a wide variety of musical events such as military ceremonies, patriotic shows, veteran appreciation events, and formal concerts. Additionally, the Travis Brass has a variety of educational programs that cover a broad range – young children’s concerts, combined concerts and masterclasses for high school students, and intensive coaching sessions for collegiate undergraduate and graduate students. The small size and logistical footprint combined with versatile, exciting, and engaging programming make the Travis Brass a great choice for any event or audience.
Performances are family-friendly and open to the public. For ticket information, call 916-808-5181 or visit www.sacramentomemorialauditorium.com.
