A beloved Auburn institution, Katrina’s serves some of the best breakfast fare in the region. Cheery and tiny, it’s packed on weekends. The menu is long and interesting, with sturdy dishes such as chili con carne omelet and date-walnut French toast. Try the excellent housemade corned beef hash or the Tuscan scramble (grilled rosemary-potato bread topped with scrambled eggs, goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and pesto). There also are several varieties of quiches and a great selection of pancakes. Absolutely do not miss the delicate lemon-yogurt pancake, rolled like a blintz and sprinkled with powdered sugar.
