Attention, ladies, there’s a new bridal boutique coming to town. Sparkle Bridal Couture, located at 3200 Folsom Blvd., opens July 6. The name represents the store’s intent—to bring out the bride’s “inner sparkle.”
 
“That’s what it’s about. You’re the light of that day. You’re going to sparkle that day,” says creative director Sandra Gonzalez. The store specializes in bridal gowns sizes 14 to 30. Gonzalez came up with the idea for the store because she recognized a need. “We really need something that focuses on women sizes 14 and over, which is really the new normal,” she says. “I think we’re the only ones on the West Coast with this type of store. We’re kind of excited.” Sparkle may be new to town, but Gonzalez is not new to the bridal business. Her family owns Gonzalez Bridal Boutique in Lodi.
 
In addition to gowns, Sparkle will carry shoes, veils, accessories and bridesmaids dresses as well as evening wear and a section devoted to LBDs (little black dresses). The store is open Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You’re welcome to drop in to check it out, but appointments are encouraged if you want to try on some gowns.
