Don’t even think about driving into Old Sac on Saturday, March 15—at least not between noon and 3 p.m., when streets will be closed to traffic. But if you want to join one of the city’s most festive celebrations, be sure to get there on foot for the 18th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. With music and dance galore, including Irish and Highland dancers, pipe and drum bands, bagpipers, military regiments, costumed marchers and more, you’ll be caught up in a big swirl of fun and frolic. And who knows? A little luck of the Irish may even rub off. Just be sure to wear some green, and arrive early: Last year’s parade drew more than 15,000.
