Think of it as a local version of “American Idol”: At Sacramento Has Talent, audience members get to put in their two cents’ worth about who should win. The 2nd annual talent show, which comes to the Crest Theatre on April 10, will showcase performers of every stripe—singers, dancers, musical groups, maybe even a spoken word artist (there was one last year)—as they compete for cash prizes. A 9-year-old hip-hop dancer donning white sunglasses and calling himself “Chris B. Fresh” knocked the socks off the judges to take first place in the 2013 competition.
The event also doubles as a good cause, as it benefits Access Sacramento (the sponsoring organization) and their Neighborhood News Youth Correspondents stipend program.
