Stephen Sondheim’s songs are known for their brilliant lyrics, making it tough to imagine “Send in the Clowns,” “Losing My Mind” or “Ladies Who Lunch” (to name a few) without words. Yet that’s exactly what will happen at the Mondavi Center on March 29 and 30, when internationally acclaimed pianist Anthony de Mare will perform the legendary musical theater composer’s works as elegant, exquisitely arranged piano solos. Featuring tunes from such beloved musicals as “A Little Night Music,” “Follies,” “Into the Woods” and “Company,” each day’s program is different, so check the schedule to see which song list entices you most—or, heck, just go both days.
