Transport yourself back in time to the Golden Age of Hollywood on March 15. The Sacramento Ballet is putting on the most luxurious and ritzy party in town for patrons of the arts wanting to support the ballet's upcoming productions. This will be nothing like your regular charity benefit, however. Taking place at the beautiful and historic Memorial Auditorium, this year's gala will be like a time capsule from the 1930s, with a champagne reception, a black tie three-course dinner, and live music, entertainment and dancing. Last year's gala featured a roaring ’20s theme, with guests dressed to the nines in flamboyant flapper costuming. This year, expect fewer Gatsbies and Buchanans and more Hayworths, Hepburns and Holdens. Guests will be treated to an exclusive Hollywood supper club atmosphere as well as a chance to test their fortunes at the gambling tables. The Peter Petty Orchestra will be performing during the party, while dancers from the ballet company will be on the floor teaching guests the Continental and Conga Line. All those attending will be leaving Sacramento in 2014 behind and entering a world of intrigue, elegance and dazzling beauty from another era. For more information, see here.
