‘Carmina Burana’

Posted on March 19

It may be well past Valentine’s Day, but the Sacramento Ballet is offering something sensual and stunning this month just the same—a reprise of the incredibly popular “Carmina Burana” on March 27-30 at the Community Center Theater.

Ron Cunningham’s breathtaking ballet is taking the place of his equally beautiful “The Great Gatsby” this month. (The Ballet will bring back the F. Scott Fitzgerald fantasy next season to make sure all of the elements coalesce perfectly). But the cataclysmic choreography of “Carmina”—based on a centuries-old poetry collection—and the soaring score by Carl Orff performed live with a full chorus is sure to make you glad that Cunningham and his corps reside in Sacramento.

For tickets and more information, call (916) 808-5181 or visit sacballet.org. The Community Center Theater is located at 1301 L St.
