The summer may be drawing to a close, but it's not too late to capitalize on the perfect combination that is hot nights and cold beer. A community party at Rotary Park in Woodland will celebrate the region's best microbreweries. So far they have 18 breweries signed up to peddle their wares and offer endless tastings from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the all-you-can-drink microbrew tasting. Beer fans can try the super-locals on the roster like New Helvetia, or sample what Rogue has to offer. (These are the guys who made the maple bacon donut beer a thing). There will be live music throughout, with ZuhG playing fun, upbeat classic rock and Grooveline closing out the evening with old school, R&B and funk. And people who love a good beer but also have kids to take care of, don't despair: Children are more than welcome (kids 12 and under are free), so bring a lawn chair and a few extra bucks to buy snacks or dinner from the food vendors for you and the kids. The festival benefits the Woodland Schools Foundation so you can enjoy your beer with a sense of purpose. See here for more information.
