OK, full disclosure, I have never participated in the Kaiser Permanente Women’s Fitness Festival, taking place this year on Sunday, June 2, but I have friends who have, and they rave about it. It could be the course—a nice 5K run or walk that starts and ends near the State Capitol. Though maybe it’s the swag, which includes a cool, tech T-shirt. (And if you are a runner or a walker, you know tech shirts are way better than cotton!) Perhaps it’s the breakfast, provided by Whole Foods. Possibly, it’s the post-race massages, offered by the fine folks at Massage Envy, or the free health screenings, courtesy of Kaiser Permanente. How about the fact that the event benefits WEAVE? Now that’s a great reason take part. The festival takes place from 7:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., with the starting line on Ninth Street between L Street and Capitol Mall, and the finish line on 10th Street in front of the State Capitol. Registration is $33 for girls ages 12 and younger to $41 for everyone else. Oh, and by “everyone else,” I mean everyone else if you are female; agree or disagree, there are no men allowed in this race.
