Staying in town this holiday weekend? It might be the perfect opportunity to go back in time via “Time Travel Weekends” in Old Sacramento. The program takes visitors back to the 1800s via street theater and shows in the historic Eagle Theatre as well as parades, craft activities for kids and more. Who knows, you might run into a character from days’ past roaming the streets. The theme for July: “Sacramento: Heart of the Union in the West”; in August it’s “Fiesta de los Californios: The Music, Dance and Games of California’s Founders.” Click here for a full performance schedule. The free event takes place Saturdays and Sundays through Aug. 25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
