Fancy yourself both a history buff and a cocktail enthusiast? Then be sure to mark your calendars for the Old Sacramento Speakeasy Tour & Pub Crawl, which takes place on the third Saturday of every month. Downtown Sacramento Partnership tour guide Shawn Peter will take you through Old Sacramento’s underground watering holes. The tour starts at the River City Saloon, then takes you to other hot spots, including the Delta King riverboat, which was once a favored location for prohibition drinking, jazz bands and gambling.
Along the way, plan to pick up your fair share of fascinating facts about the people and events that formed Sacramento’s early history. At each stop you can grab a prohibition-era inspired cocktail. The tours last approximately two hours. For more information, click here.
