You'd have to have been living under a rock this past year to not know Imagine Dragons, or at least recognize one of their several songs that are dominating radio. It's no wonder Launch, Sacramento's annual celebration of music and culture, got in on the action quick and booked the up-and-comers for their headlining act at this year's festival. But for those of you who think you're going to scream if you hear "Radioactive" one more time, Imagine Dragons aren't the only major players hitting the stage at Cesar Chavez Park. Blonde Redhead, Washed Out, Girl Talk, Surfer Blood, Cults and dozens of other music trendsetters will be rocking out at the two-day music event. Launch has been doing great things for Sac's creative scene for a while now, but this year's music festival is an especially big step toward making our city into a cosmopolitan music destination. We may not be at the level of Outside Lands in our neighbor city San Francisco, but you've gotta start somewhere, and this is a very nice start. In just a few years, Launch has gone from a single-day event out on Del Paso to a full week of fashion, art and music, culminating in this weekend-long festival. If they've made this much progress this far, it's exciting to think of where they will go in the future. To get in on the action, check it out here.
