What’s your idea of a fun Friday night? If it includes live music, good food and wine, look no further than the 12th Annual Blues Harvest on Friday, Nov. 1 from 6:30 p.m.–11 p.m. at the Heidrick Ag History Center in Woodland. Here you can nibble and nosh at the gourmet buffet and sip complimentary wine while digging the sounds of several blues bands, including headliner Kyle Rowland and his band (featuring special guest Barry “The Fish” Melton). Having seen Rowland perform a number of times, I can assure you he’s not only a knockout on harmonica and vocals, but is a natural-born performer, and his bands are always top-notch. Other goodies on tap: a raffle for a Kindle Fire, a silent auction with a variety of prizes, and a live auction offering vacations in Kauai and Vegas. Not only does it sound like a good time, but it’s for a good cause: Proceeds will benefit the Yolo Adult Day Health Center.
