The Monterey Jazz Festival is the longest continuously running jazz festival in the world. It has hosted nearly every major jazz performer, from Billie Holiday to Louis Armstrong, since it was founded in 1958. The Jazz Festival’s mission is to create awareness and support for jazz education and performance programs all over the world. This year, the Monterey Jazz Festival is continuing its commitment to spread awareness with its third North American tour.
The Festival will be making its way to the Mondavi Center at UC Davis on Jan. 18. The performance will feature an all-star band composed of Grammy-winning jazz artists Christian McBride, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Chris Potter, Ambrose Akinmusire, Benny Green and Lewis Nash.
