East Sacramento’s very own Pops in the Park summer concert series is coming to McKinley Park on Saturday, June 2. The series was started in 1991 by City Councilman Steve Cohn. Cohn saw Pops in the Park as an opportunity to raise money for under-funded neighborhood parks, while providing the community with free, quality entertainment. Today, the series still holds true to Cohn’s original intentions.
The summer kick-off performance for Pops in the Park will feature The Nibblers. They are a seven-piece funk and soul-type band whose main goal is to make people dance. All of the Pops in the Park concerts are free. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and all proceeds benefit neighborhood and park improvements. So grab the whole family and get ready for some dancing in McKinley Park. For more information, click here.
