I should, first off, clear up that title. It would be equally accurate to say that Jackie Greene is going to perform at Fairytale Town. “Play” makes it sound like the popular singer-songwriter/musician is going to run a few laps on the Crooked Mile or make a few trips down one of Fairytale Town’s twisty slides. I would have changed the title, but then I thought, “Who’s to say that Greene won’t play before he takes to the stage this Saturday, Aug. 18. for his fourth-annual concert benefiting the popular children’s play park and educational center. Heck, I know I would.
Regardless of whether Greene—who’s music has earned critical acclaim and a wealth of fans—indulges his inner child at Fairytale Town, one thing is for certain: He will take to the Mother Goose Stage at 8 p.m. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $35. Bring blankets and/or low chairs (the legs should be 10-inches tall or less). No outside food or drink is permitted, but food and beverages will be available for purchase. Oh, and don’t fret if you were hoping to bring the kids to the park on Aug. 18. Fairytale Town is open regular summer hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the last admission at 4 p.m.
