Crack Open Crab Season—Part II

Posted on February 28

It’s still crab feed season. It’s that time of year when it seems like half of the area’s charities, churches, benevolent societies and junior high school girl’s basketball teams break out the crabs and pull in much-needed dollars for their groups. Here are a couple of the best events in town in case you were looking for a crab feast within the next few weeks.

March 3: Crockett-Deane Ballet hosts its fourth annual crab feed. Expect some great raffle and silent auction items, and some unique waitressing involving young people capable of pliés, pirouettes and arabesques. All proceeds go to fund the C-D Ballet company. Saturday, March 3 at 5:30pm. Clunie Clubhouse, 601 Alhambra Blvd., Sacramento. Tix: $45 ($20 for children).

March 16: The Performing & Fine Arts Academy at Natomas Charter School holds its 11th annual crab feed. Expect a St. Patty’s theme, incredible raffle items, and maybe one or two performances from the talented teens at NCS. Tickets are $55/$65 but they include an hour-long “happy hour” featuring free wine and beer. Friday, March 16 at 5:30 p.m. Hellenic Center, 614 Alhambra Blvd., Sacramento. Tix: $55 in advance, $65 at the door.
