Beer, Polka, Beer: Bockbierfest!

Posted on April 12

Enjoy the finest German brews, along with polka, brats and all things Teutonic at this year’s Bockbierfest at the Sacramento Turn Verein. Bocks are strong German beers typically drunk throughout the winter and spring and are a bit darker than traditional German lagers. They’re smooth and strong and perfect for warming the soul. On April 13 and 14, Sacramento Turn Verein will celebrate its 44th annual Bockbierfest, and if you’re free and have $20 to spare, you should drop on by.

What: Bockbierfest
When: April 13 from 6 p.m. to midnight; April 14 from 3 p.m. to midnight
Where: Sacramento Turn Verein, 3349 J St., Sacramento
Cost: $20 at the door, children $5
